Palakkad, a luxury hill
station of Kerala, is rich in history and blessed with a natural

Getting There
Palakkad is 80 km northeast of Thrissur and northwest of Coimbatore. Coimbatore is the nearest airport to the hill station of Palakkad and is located around 55 km from Palakkad. It is well connected by good roads with major centres in Kerala and Tamilnadu. Palakkad is one of the most railway junctions of the Southern Railway in the subcontinent.

Fort
Palakkad fort is one of the best preserved forts in Kerala.
In 1766 AD, it is built by Haider Ali and then in 1790 it
is renovated by the British.
Malampuzha
Malampuzha is a famous picnic spot which is located on the lower hills of Western Ghats. It consists of a Dam and landscaped gardens. The famous work 'yakshi' done by Kerala's famous sculptor Kania Kunjiraman is another attraction done in the garden.
Dhoni
Dhoni is situated at a distance of 15 kms from Palakkad. This
reserve forest area has a wonderful waterfall, which is a
3 hour trek from the base of Dhoni hills. Dhoni is also famous
for its farmhouse, harboring hundreds of cattle of Swiss variety.
The Vishwanatha Swamy shrine, the oldest Shiva temple is situated
3 kms from Palakkad.
