The Ochira pilgrimage in Kollam is a significant place of worship in Kerala. The Ochira pilgrim center is also popularly known as Dakshina Kashi. The temple celebrates its annual festival ‘Ochirakali’ in a unique way. The festivities include mock fights between young and old men in knee-deep water logged paddy fields. Its objective is to test the physical potentials and dexterity of the participants.
The festival is generally celebrated in month of June.
